Takapoto Island is the place of conservation and one of the best-known places for pearl farming. Looking down onto the island, you can see the absence of communication between lagoon and ocean. This lagoon stretches out 20km bringing to mind a long necklace.
The Takapoto necklace takes the shape of this lagoon. I imitated this long stretch of island with a magnificent strand of 30 gorgeous blue beads made of sea glass, and one baroque pearl (10mm) dipped in 22 karat gold set together on fine hand worked Australian leather.
This Takapoto necklace is 36”/91.4cm long and adjustable, dependant on the mood.
